A FEW WORDS ABOUT THIS SHOW:

I really enjoyed working in D.C. with this great cast. Our lunchtime conversations in the Kennedy Center cafeteria were the best I've had with any company, mostly because they were not about showbiz at all.

It was very special to work with Mo Willems again after our time together at SESAME STREET and SHEEP IN THE BIG CITY. In fact, I gave him the "real" Knuffle Bunny when the real Trix was born, except it was actually a Gund lamb named "Fluffles." In return, he wrote this role of Trixie for me, and I will be forever grateful for this gig.

A HAT? PIGTAILS? HUH?

When faced with how to portray the living embodiment of Trixie, who is a drawing of a toddler, I knew that shaving my head would not look right, because I saw what I looked like when I wore a bald cap in the musical episode of SCRUBS...

and it was definitely not toddler-esque.

This pre-show self portrait in no way reflects my feelings about the show. It reflects how tired one can feel whilst putting on makeup for a 10AM school matinee.

I suggested a sun hat, because that's what babies wear. We did some school performances and photos with the hat.

The powers that be then determined they wanted Trixie in pigtails. Which meant re-creating the publicity shots with the new 'do.
